It's the Little Things that count

I was challenged by a friend to make a thankful list over the past month to really see where God's blessings are.  What I learned is that sometimes the blessings are big and sometimes they are so small that I almost miss them.  Here is my list:

1- I am thankful that I live in a country that recognizes November as National Adoption Month.
2- Four months ago today I married my best friend.
3- Thankful that God knows me so much better than myself.
4- I am thankful that I am Aunt Lissa to the best niece and nephew EVER.
5- Today I am thankful for a mother/daughter day- Belk Charity Event.
6- Today is orphan Sunday, a day to recognize so many children needing a,family. So thankful to help with awareness of this.
7- Thankful for my bed.  Sometimes it is just enough to make it through a difficult day. 
8- Thankful for a job with many amazing women who have much experience and teamwork we share.
9- Today i am thankful for the quiet moments of peace l have each morning.
10-I am thankful for my home. God has so richly blessed us.

11- Thankful for my hubby. Its his birthday.
12- Today I am thankful to be able to hang out with my family and some awesome girls. So glad my husband and daughter have a heart for ministry

13- I ♥ Miracle Hill Ministries. Today I am thankful for the program, staff and volunteers and the services they provide to kids in their time of need. If you have never really taken a close look at this organization, my heart begs you to. Children's programs are only one of the services they provide but this one is the closest to my heart.
14- I am thankful for the companionship God gives us through our pets. Sometimes they know how to comfort us in ways people cannot.
15- no brainer: thankful for my baby brother today. Happy birthday David.

16- Today I am thankful for our doors with screen doors. It has been amazing to listen to the rain outside all evening. A constant reminder of provision.

17 and 18- Today i am thankful for adoption. One year ago l became LA's mom.
19- Today I am thankful for my daughter"s birth family. Thankful her mother gave her life and thankful God blessed all of her siblings with forever homes.

20- Thankful for friends today. I am truly blessed and look forward to girl time this afternoon.
21- Thankful for my Bible today. God's love story for me.

22-Today I am thankful for freedom.

23- Pretty thankful for the rain. I love the sound as i go to sleep.
24- Is thankful to have a job where i only have to work 1/2 day and then its FAMILY TIME. yeah!!!!

25- Best Thanksgiving ever.
26- holiday baking with my mom. So thankful for this tradition.

What else I learned is that God has moved in a mighty way in the past year of my life.  I am amazed at how many of my "thanks" revolve around people.  They are truly the most important people in my life.  Oh that I may continue this practice of thanksgiving throughout the holiday season, pausing each day to note something I am thankful for.
